My Dolls. No 121

Today a confession... about my yet another last one for 2016.
It's been evening on November 11th (11.11.) and completely impulsively I pressed buy now button again... My soft spot for old good Teresa doll got activated by this auction picture...

Like seiouslu, what could I do - shiny black hair with fringe, dark red lips and large brown eyes... combined with some fine gold plastic bling bling, bend elbow and proper old-school Mattel dolly outfit... and all of it was below a fiver for sure...

She turned out to be even more fun:-)
here is some of the excitement of 'deboxing' caught on camera;-) or sth.

a papery cocoon emerged...
with this beauty inside, indeed

Top turned out to be nicely soft and velvety and the artificial arctic fox super fluffy!
The Jacket is fastened with velcro at the back and is separate from the skirt which is always fab!

Oh just look at her! perfect hispanic doll for real!

The skirt is really large an dlong and made from very high quality, sturdy and rustling taffeta in pink, black and gold - tres festive!

To my surprise she has very stylish black pumps included, one of which was for a while missing in this pile of papers...

There is a sneaky from future peek again

Then I started to investigate as this yellow ring did not make much sense and first of all there did not seem to be any latina in this line...
It's not a great mistery that outfit belongs to one of AVON's Christmas dolls 1996's Winter Rapsody one to be precise.
There was a Blonde, Brunette and classic Christie in that edition:

all in rather Easter yellow-green-violet-pink make-up...

Then I have made an investigation about Teresa with red studs and to my not so Wintery surprise, she turned out, quite soon, to be actually a beach doll from Hawaii 1999 line...

she is rather perfect and I swear she must be my last one with this mold!

To my surprise they cam with a plastic beach bucket and spade set - to waste your new doll completely and immediately, oh dear

There was all massive group of holidaymakers that year...

Colorful studs gave me additional idea, and yes...

I think one of my first ebay purchases, my perfect Asha with brown hair, wearing lingerie is most probably from the same line! Bingo again!

Here they are reunited (in future;-)

Project update

Do you remember my (not)singing 16" Aurora Disney carboot doll?
In process of trying decid if I am repainting and rerooting that sweet cartoon face I stumbled upon an interesting doll. Head large enough to be in proportion with the above mentioned body and quite lovely acrylic eyes. Price below one pound definitely invited me to experiment...

Here is the doll I have got...

tiny body, bow in hair and dated contoured lips make-up;-)

A doll forum guru informed me she is part of hideous Chincz Gilz line...

I wish I could work with this green-eyed brunette instead, but apparently these dolls are hard to find nowadays (Natalie vs. Sofia)...

Here is a mini fotomontage of how she changes with her make-up removed and then hair cut...

Not only she looks like a boy now... without a great effort I can pretend I am doing a face-up and wig for some super-extra japanese doll LOLz

Her head is super hard and combination of large size and small neck/hole makes it impossible even to remove the rest of her hair. I just keep in shortening the leftovers... and will create a wig cup using this turorial #wishfulthinking...

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=j8Ods9Ca8B8
lace, elastic, sewing and gluing...

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=-oHA-v6pskA
yarn and glue only...

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=2nTgXohapg8
fabric, elastic an dmore glue...
that's my favourite one..and I love the hair colour!!!!

looks easy, right...

...so here is she being spooky patiently waiting for a cap to dry...

Here are my hair processed and ready
(what a messy mess it was with these stiff extra long weaving hair...)
fab colour and texture tho...
here I am in the middle of gluing (messy and toxic ;-)
 Improvising much?

anyways here she is after boiling water treatment and not-bad-for-the-first-time partition...

here is 'an interior' of my first wig
The doll is not ready as such but one morning I just jumped on her with my acrylic paints...
and I have been embracing the autumn already, obviously...

then a pound-shop false lashes fell into my hands (I do have looots of stuff on my desk, ok?)
and here is a result of this spontaneous encounter....
haha, totally over the top and definitely need to tidy-up this makeup, but I bet Czinch is thrilled...

Christie restyled (and rebodied)

Here is a small photo shoot of my petite pearl survivor.
The damaged Pear Beach Christies head that I have got in bulk with others - who's hair I tried to restore and ended up making my first semi-afro. She is also one of my first rebodied dolls thanks to kindness of charity shop / disney store semi-articulated Tiana ...

She has the sweetest face and fab green eyes. With these lean hands and narrow hips she looks very different from what the usual tnt body had to offer...
and now for more in focus and colorful part... stomp stomp stomp

...definitely automnal mood...with some dose of Indian Summer;-)
 or maybe even eclipse;-)

I need to make few more woolly colourful items as these are like 20 years old and only barely stitched, hahaha....

so graceful! I love proportions in this styling...

(I now have a second version of this doll / head - her hair are fab, her legs are chewed and ankle actually broken AND/BUT her make-up is even more colorful so I feel soooo tempted to keep her ...)

My Dolls. No 119 & 120

Today yet another fail in 'I don't need any more dolls' and mostly 'I am definitely not checking out whats currently on ebay' kind of thing... This is how I got another set of 5, poorly photograped and unidentified dolls for £3...

I don't really know where to start - so much is going on..so much potential and excitement in one box...

so many legs so little time...
So what we have got here is a fascinating bunch of two fully dressed Liv dolls with wigs and even earrings... This way I came in possession of classic wig with ponytails and sapphire beannie...  cool silver top and skinny jeans...and a fab Sophie doll (or body at least;-)
The second one is one of Katie's editions wearing cool black earrings well as the original blue trainers... patterned Barbie trousers (I once identified but can't find the picture now)...
Hot pink wig seems to be from Build a Monster pack ...
jacket is so bad but works with 90's fashions and has a real zip...

Don't know what will be these Liv's fate but I definitely will keep doll nr 119 +/-
I meant not to buy any more of Asha dolls, and even managed to resale, like..one...

but just look at her (and cool top and indigo denims!)
She has a lovely harmony of colours...
(and photographs very well which you will see sooner than later)

I just identified her as Rio de Janeiro 2002 beach Christie...which accidentally makes her my 3rd doll from this line  after Teresa and Teen Skipper... need to yet another comparison session...

oh i definitely need this ugly-pretty very asian Lea now...

(sneaky peek from future as usual)
<3

The 4th doll in this parel is very peculiar... she has a silly face and big huge 90s eyes... I though I will use her as an always highly desirable AA donor doll... but then I recognised this body as being identical with 90's Hasbro Sindies... yet she is not resembling any of (very few) ethnic/AA/black Sindy's editions...

hmmm I gave her nr 120 which she will share with (parts?) of Liv dolls until I'll make my decision...

She has absolutelt fab, soft and shiny black & fiery hair and nice golden-pink and lavender shadow...

(here is my research /graphic documentation anyway)...

UPDATE: oh well, thanks to UK collector's facebook group I managed to identify her as late, post Hasbro, Vivid Imaginations' version of Sindy. Her name was Mel. This is 1998 Party Nails Mel actually (more on this fab page: http://www.club-sindy.com/vivid_98.htm). Silly me...

Be careful tho.. early 2000's dolls are quite charming (yet they are ripping of the themes from Mattel in a painfully obvious way)
